How to Add Your Etsy Store in WordPress
Recently, one of our readers inquired about the feasibility of WordPress integration with Etsy stores. You may increase your online sales by integrating your Etsy store with your WordPress website. We’ll demonstrate how to add your Etsy store to WordPress in this article.
Why Integrate WordPress with Your Etsy Store?
When compared to other well-known eCommerce platforms like Shopify or WooCommerce, Etsy shops have fewer functionalities. mostly because WooCommerce and Shopify are full-featured eCommerce platforms while Etsy is an online marketplace for creative items.
The limited payment options and rigorous product requirements of Etsy shops may not be available in all nations. Additionally, unlike a WooCommerce online store, your Etsy shop does not allow you to add sophisticated features.
However, Etsy gives you more access to a specific market of customers looking for handcrafted, original, and artistic products. It is incredibly simple to use, and since they are already there, you won’t have to spend much time looking for consumers.
Create a website using WordPress to better exhibit the products in your Etsy shop if you want to grow your business.
Now that we know how to link your Etsy store to WordPress, let’s look at how to do it quickly.
Adding Your Etsy Store in WordPress
The first step in adding your Etsy store to WordPress is to install and activate the Etsy Shop plugin. Visit our guide on installing a WordPress plugin for more information.
To connect your shop with the plugin after activation, go to Settings » Etsy Shop and enter your Etsy API key.
Please take note: If you don’t already have an Etsy API key, click the link to request one from your Etsy store.
When you click the link, a new app creation prompt will appear. You must include your app’s name, a description, and the URL of your WordPress website. Then, choose the options that are appropriate for your application, and then click the Create App button below.
Your Etsy API key will now appear in a success message. Copy the key from here by all means.
The Etsy API key needs to be pasted next in the WordPress admin section. When you’re finished, click the Save Changes button. The plugin will then verify your API key and establish a connection to your Etsy store.
You can sell items from your Etsy shop directly on your WordPress blog after successfully linking your Etsy store.
You must either create a new page in WordPress or amend an existing page in order to include the items from the Etsy store. You must include the following shortcode on this page in the page edit area.
[etsy-shop shop_name="MyShopUSDesign" section_id="55895579"]
Don’t forget to substitute your Etsy shop name and ID for the section ID and shop name in this shortcode.
You must visit your Etsy store and select Shop Manager from the upper right corner of the page to obtain these two details.
To access your shop on this page, click the link in the left menu.
To get the section ID, first copy the name of your business, and then click the Edit Shop button.
From here, select the Listings tab from the menu on the left.
You will be prompted to choose the section where you have listed your products on this page. As seen in the screenshot below, you can choose Sections from the dropdown.
When your chosen section loads, the section ID of your shop will be shown in the page URL. Copy this section ID now and replace it in the shortcode.
You can browse the post/page to see your Etsy store in WordPress after adding the shortcode with your shop name and section ID.
To display your Etsy shop on many posts or pages in WordPress, add the same shortcode. You must modify the section ID in the shortcode in order to display various listings. The store name, however, can stay the same.
